My favorite people. We’re a creative bunch, a little nerdy, a little quirky, and there’s always something to laugh about. They keep life interesting and are a big reason I love photographing families and all the little moments that make them who they are.

Decorating for the holidays way too early — I tell myself it’s “for the kids,” but really, I just love the glow of twinkle lights when it’s barely November.

I’m happiest at home with fresh flowers on the table, something growing in the garden and absolutely nowhere I need to be. Bonus points if it’s sunny and I can sit outside and do nothing for a while.

The ocean. Preferably somewhere in Maine where I can climb around on rocks, take way too many pictures and pretend I don’t have to drive home eventually.

This guy. My husband, Josh. He’s the calm to my chaos and the reason I laugh every day. He has this easy way of making everything feel lighter — even when life’s a mess. I couldn’t do half of what I do without his steady support and sense of humor that always sneaks in right when I need it most.

That few minutes right after the ceremony when the nerves are gone and everyone realizes, “Oh wow, we did it!” Some of my favorite photos happen right here.
